What Do We Do?
In the past, our members have gathered to discuss the following topics:
-
Tracing the use of entheogenic substances in the cultural and religious development of ancient East Asia, Persia, India and Greece
-
Computational design of perfect sets of Chinese ideograms (漢字) to finish Gottfried Leibniz's work on characteristica universalis
-
Recent research at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology on the use of salvia divinorum to ascertain the claustrum's role as a neural correlate of consciousness
-
The phenomenology of Hossō / Yogācāra "consciousness-only" Buddhism (法相宗) and its relation to the psychonautic experience
Our biggest upcoming project is a revival of the Orchid Pavilion Gathering (蘭亭集会). Held in 343 CE, the Orchid Pavilion Gathering gathered the greatest literati from across East Asia in the singular most monumental cultural and philosophical event in Eastern Antiquity. We believe it is time for a new psychonautic incarnation of this for modernity.

Who Are We?
We are an interdisciplinary collective of young scientists, philosophers, artists, founders and professionals brought together by our shared desire to understand transcendental states of consciousness as well as our shared interest in the traditions of East Asia.
We seek to discuss the unique ways in which the psychonautic sciences can be used in East Asia to elevate interconnectedness, cultural consciousness, mental health as well as technological innovation. In particular, we are drawn to the ability of psychonautic inquiry to unlock an appreciation for East Asian traditions and reignite the flames of a shared East Asian cultural heritage.
